Geotechnical Innovative Seismic Isolation System

ERIES-GISIS

SEISMIC ISOLATION/ DISSIPATIVE DEVICES
SOIL - STRUCTURE INTERACTION

Dataset Description

This dataset includes data from recordings of the forced vibration response of the prototype structure of EuroProteas resting on a pile cap foundation on four micropiles with encased rubber isolators. Two configurations were tested: with and without the EuroProteas superstructure. The eccentric mass shaker that produced the forced vibration was mounted either on the foundation slab or the roof slab. The instrumentation comprised high-resolution accelerometers and laser displacement sensors. The instruments were placed on the soil surface around the foundation, on the micropiles above and below the rubber isolators, on the foundation, and on the roof of EuroProteas. The dynamic forced-vibration tests covered a wide range of frequencies (1 to 12Hz) and amplitudes (0.1kN to 30kN).

All field tests were conducted at the Euroseistest/EuroProteas facility. Drawings, instrumentation layout, and photos are also included in the dataset.

This work is part of the transnational access project “ERIES-GISIS”, supported by the Engineering Research Infrastructures for European Synergies (ERIES) project (www.eries.eu), which has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe Framework Programme under Grant Agreement No. 101058684.

1. Soil-micropiles-foundation

1

This dataset includes acceleration and displacement recordings from forced-vibration tests of the soil-micropile-isolator-foundation system (without the superstructure). The 4-by-4-by-0.4m foundation slab rests on a 2x2 group of micropiles, enhanced with the SMART-G rubber isolators. The eccentric mass shaker is fixed at the center of the foundation slab. Acceleration response is recorded on the foundation, on the micropiles and on the soil, whereas displacement is recorded on the foundation and on the micropiles.

2. Soil-micropiles-foundation-structure

2

This dataset includes acceleration and displacement recordings from forced-vibration tests of the soil-micropile-isolator-foundation system with the superstructure of EuroProteas on top. The 4-by-4-by-0.4m foundation slab rests on a 2x2 group of micropiles, enhanced with the SMART-G rubber isolators. The eccentric mass shaker is fixed at the center of the foundation slab and at the top of the EuroProteas structure. Acceleration response is recorded on the roof of the structure, at the foundation, on the micropiles, and on the soil, whereas displacement is recorded on the foundation and on the micropiles.
